Making Alfred a better service is always what we are working on, and we can never accomplish it without your participation. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other idea!I love this app so much and am so happy I found it. My wife and I were wondering about the best way to keep an eye on our lil puppy while we’re at work and make sure he’s not barking or whining all day. We were looking into buying cameras or expensive pet monitoring equipment when we found the app Alfred. We were able to use our tablets we normally leave at home to easily monitor our little pup for free. We can always see how he is doing from our phones and even talk through the microphone to calm him down or just to check in before we get home. The night mode feature helps us tremendously since he is a black lab and hard to spot sometimes.

home monitor systems

The revolution brought on by wireless technologies, smart phones, and mobile apps have changed all of that. Today, home security systems can still sound alarms, but are much more difficult to forget about or foil. A software supported security system can send you a text message every time a door or window is opened, whether you’ve armed it or not. It can stream live video or send still images of what’s happening in your garage, living room, backyard or wherever you deploy a security camera. You can even be alerted before the break in, the moment the burglar pulls into the driveway!BUILDING A SECURITY SYSTEM Smart systems consist of hardware that doesn’t look a lot different than it did twenty five years ago. There are some specialized sensors and video cameras that weren’t common in the past and window and door contact switches have gotten a lot smaller, but the basics are the same: a control panel or console, magnetic contact switches, motion sensors, a siren.

security alarm monitoring

A simple list of components includes a hub, window/door sensors, motion sensor, remote, and sensor stickers for the yard or window. The nice thing about SmartThings and other home security devices being compatible with Z wave devices is that it works with hundreds of products, such as smart locks, smart sprinklers, smart garages and so much more. SmartThings is the cream of the crop in home security, especially considering it has no monthly fees. The device is best for those that enjoy a little tinkering around, as it’s not built to be an out of the box system, but rather requires that each device is programmed and set up separately. The hub lets you easily control, monitor and secure your home from anywhere in the world. If your home is burgled, it’s an unsettling experience.
